This paper analyzes the causes of the low beam extraction efficiency of the Separated Sector Cyclotron (SSC) in the Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou (HIRFL), and explains the main problems that hinder the increase of the Dee voltage of the SSC radio frequency (RF) cavity. A broadband matching network for the SSC RF system is proposed, designed and successfully developed. Through tests and actual beam operation, the design of the broadband matching network is verified, and the beam extraction efficiency of the SSC RF cavity is effectively improved.
