Digital technology-enabled innovation in red cultural resources has become a critical pathway for the sustainable transmission and development of red cultural heritage. In Hengyang, however, the digital transformation of red cultural resources remains constrained by structural factors, including inadequate top-level design, lagging infrastructure, insufficient technological depth, and a shortage of professional talent. Addressing these constraints requires improving policy frameworks and coordinated planning, accelerating new infrastructure and red resource database development, strengthening talent cultivation and recruitment mechanisms, advancing immersive and context-aware applications, and building a diversified communication matrix and distinctive red cultural brands. These measures can facilitate a stepwise upgrading of Hengyang’s red cultural resources from static preservation through digital revitalization to value creation.
