Abstract

The international standardization of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a strategic development goal in TCM, with international organizations serving as key channels for promoting global standard dissemination. As the world's larg-est and most influential international organization, ISO (International Organi-zation for Standardization) sets standards that significantly impact economic, trade, and collaborative exchanges worldwide. This paper begins by providing a brief overview of ISO before conducting discourse analysis on its formulation of TCM international standards. Through a cultural discourse lens, we systemati-cally examine the characteristics of TCM international standards and related organizational operations, summarize current developments in TCM standardi-zation, identify existing challenges, and propose solutions. The research aims to provide actionable insights for advancing TCM's international standardization efforts.
