The essence of Daqing Spirit includes patriotism, entrepreneurship, pragmatism and dedication. In the context of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and building a modern socialist country, Daqing Spirit still holds profound contemporary value. College students need the guidance of Daqing Spirit. Educating with Daqing Spirit can cultivate college students’ ideals and beliefs through the spirit of patriotism, forge their sense of responsibility through the spirit of hard work and entrepreneurship, enhance their innovation ability through the spirit of scientific inquiry and pragmatism, and build their worldviews, outlooks on life and values through the spirit of selfless dedication. Universities should play a leading role in the inheritance and innovation of Daqing Spirit, using the classroom as the main channel, campus culture construction as the carrier, and practical activities as the support. The inheritance and innovation of Daqing Spirit should be integrated into the entire process of university education to promote the overall improvement of higher education quality and the all-round development of college students.
