Abstract

In order to scientifically construct a Chinese-style modernization index system and deeply analyze its temporal and spatial evolution characteristics, based on the panel data of 30 provinces from 2011 to 2021, a reasonable and effective Chinese-style modernization index system is established from the four basic dimensions of modernization of economic construction, modernization of social construction, modernization of cultural construction, and modernization of ecological construction, and the entropy weighting method is applied to measure it, and descriptive statistics are adopted, Terrell's index, Moran's index and other methods for empirical analysis. The study finds that: the overall level of Chinese-style modernization is fluctuating and rising, but the overall level is still low, and there is significant heterogeneity among the four major regions, with the eastern region much higher than the other regions, and there are large inter-provincial differences, and the modernization level of most of the provinces is relatively low; the overall disparity is gradually decreasing, and the gap originates from inter-region and intra-region, with inter-regional differences being the main root cause, and the eastern region contributing most; the spatial The distribution is unbalanced, with the modernization of economic construction, social construction and cultural construction showing an overall spatial pattern of high in the east and low in the west, and the modernization of ecological construction showing a random distribution; there is a significant positive spatial correlation of the level of Chinese-style modernization among provinces, and a more obvious spatial agglomeration pattern is also shown. The study enriches and improves the construction and measurement analysis of the indicator system of Chinese-style modernization, and provides theoretical support for accelerating the development of modernization policies.
