Abstract

With the deepening of global cultural exchanges, the translation of Chinese characteristic vocabulary has become a crucial medium for international audiences to understand China’s unique cultural, political and social landscapes. When translating Chinese characteristic vocabulary, how to fully convey Chinese cultural imagery while ensuring easy comprehension by foreign audiences constitutes a core difficulty and focus in translation practice. From the perspective of cross-cultural communication, this article explores the English translation of Chinese characteristic vocabulary through an analysis of typical cases. And the aim is to construct a more efficient English translation strategy system for vocabulary with Chinese characteristics, providing references for enhancing the international dissemination power of Chinese discourse and promoting effective mutual learning between Chinese and Western civilizations.
